Dine with Dignity Project
Many students are faced daily with hunger and school is one of the only consistent places to receive a hot meal. Currently students that do not qualify for free and reduced lunch and do not have money on their school accounts will receive an alternative lunch. The Dine with Dignity Project is two fold. First donations of common non-perishable lunch items for students to help supplement. Second monetary donation to help provide Principals with the ability to pay for lunch when students do not have funding.
Cluster families will bring in donated non-perishable lunch items and children will pack care packages to donate to schools throughout the southern cluster of Prince George’s County.
Monetary donations are spread to schools throughout the Host Chapter’s County of Prince George's County to assist with feeding students that are unable to pay, but families may not qualify for free lunch. Currently students in Prince Georges County have a balance of $24,000 in delinquent student lunch accounts.
